The weekend is here, and so is Rescue Special Ops, a thrilling and binge-worthy drama series from Australia whose first season is now streaming in the States.

Stateside fans of Down Under TV have probably seen Antonia Prebble in at least one show from New Zealand or Australia. If not, here are several to get acquainted with her work.

The new season of an award-winning Aussie political thriller launches in March, and the Aussie version of a hit British improv comedy show arrives stateside.

Two new series from Australia arrive in the US in February, including a documentary presented by the outstanding Sam Neill about British explorer Captain James Cook.

Many of the new Down Under TV series in 2018 were good or great, and some I couldn’t get into no matter how terrific their ratings. Herewith, then, are my favorites.
