Prime Video has set the premiere date for Season 2 of Deadloch, the hit crime comedy series from Australia.
This is great news for fans of Deadloch, whose viewing helped to catapult the series’ first season into Prime Video’s Top 10 TV Shows in more than 165 countries and territories, including the US, UK, and Canada, when it launched in mid-2023. And it wasn’t just everyday viewers who loved the show. Critics and awards-show voters also gave it the thumbs up, as the series racked up five AACTA Awards wins, including Best Acting in a Comedy for series co-lead Kate Box and Best Screenplay in Television for creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, plus an International Emmy® Award nomination.
Whereas Season 1 was set in the icy titular Tasmanian town, Season 2 takes us to the town of Barra Creek in Australia’s Northern Territory, where the heat and humidity are enough to send folks into a frenzy, or at least leave them with some horrific chafing. Here in the sweltering Top End, Detectives Dulcie Collins (Kate Box, Wentworth, Rake) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami, Our Flag Means Death, The Bad Seed) investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy. But when the body of a local icon is discovered in a remote town, they are flung into a sweatier, stickier, croc-ier crime case.
Deadloch: Season 2, an Amazon Original Series, premieres globally on Friday, March 20, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
Also reprising their roles for Season 2 are Nina Oyama (Utopia, Class of ’07) as Constable Abby Matsuda and Alicia Gardiner (Offspring, Wakefield) as Cath York, Dulcie’s wife.
