Acorn TV announced today the premiere date for Season 4 of the hit Kiwi mystery-crime drama series My Life Is Murder, starring Lucy Lawless.
This is great news! It’s always a treat to watch Lucy Lawless (Spartacus, Xena: Warrior Princess) in her acting element, and My Life Is Murder is fun to watch with its mystery and comedic elements. (I’ve been a fan since the first season.)
In Season 4, Lucy Lawless returns as fearless, unapologetic, and charismatic investigator Alexa Crowe, who has a slew of puzzling new cases to solve — from homicidal hairdressers and wicked widows, to brutal ballet and deadly soufflés.
Eight new mysteries. Eight new worlds. Eight diabolical killers that only Alexa Crowe can catch. And she’s bringing her friends and family along for the ride. Her sidekick Madison (Ebony Vagulans, The Heart Guy) is stepping up, contributing her considerable technical skills to Alexa’s investigations; the two of them have fallen into a comfortable mentor-mentee relationship, although neither of them will ever agree on who is the mentor and who is the student. Cafe owner Reuben (Joe Naufahu, Game of Thrones) also steps in, while Alexa’s brother, Will (Martin Henderson, Grey’s Anatomy), stays close, Detective Harry (Rawiri Jobe, Shortland Street) has Alexa’s back, and her cranky cat, Chowder, can’t help but complicate everything.
Emboldened by the changes in her life, ready to revisit demons of the past, and excited to embrace her future, Alexa is even more of a force now, determined to reveal the most carefully hidden secrets that crack the most bewildering cases. And, somehow, she and her fabulous whanau (chosen family) still have a bunch of fun along the way.
Let the Auckland adventures begin again!
