CBS has announced that the Australia-US crime drama series NCIS: Sydney has been renewed for a second season.
NCIS: Sydney was the #1 new series on CBS’s 2023 fall season, so it’s no surprise that the network renewed it for another season, as did Paramount+ Australia. The show launched across multiple territories and Paramount Global platforms in the fall of 2023, debuting on Paramount+ Australia, CBS in the US, and Global in Canada.
Season 2 is slated for the 2024-2025 season.
In NCIS: Sydney, as international tensions rise in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of US NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have been grafted into a multi-national task force to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.
The series stars Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The River Wild) as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance (Without Remorse, Spartacus: War of the Damned) as AFP Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, Sean Sagar (The Covenant, Mea Culpa) as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road: Origin, Bad Behaviour) as AFP liaison officer Constable Evie Cooper, Mavournee Hazel (Shantaram, Halifax: Retribution) as AFP forensic scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson, and William McInnes (The Newsreader, Total Control) as AFP forensic pathologist Dr Roy Penrose.
NCIS: Sydney airs on the CBS Television Network and streams on Paramount+ in the US.
Season 1 is currently available for streaming on Paramount+ in New Zealand, the US, UK, South Korea, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, and will be available later this year in Japan.
The show marked the fifth series in the popular global “NCIS” franchise, which includes NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i, currently in their twenty-first and third seasons, respectively, on CBS, as well as NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. The franchise will reach its 1,000th episode milestone on April 15 with an episode of NCIS.
