Perhaps like me, you know people who take apple cider vinegar (ACV) for their health, whether using it as a salad dressing ingredient or taking shots of it to boost their immune system. (I occasionally do the former and haven’t tried the latter.) Folks on social media have been posting about ACV for what seems like forever and getting millions of views.

Soon we’ll have the Australian drama limited series Apple Cider Vinegar. It takes place at the birth of social media and follows two young women, Belle and Milla, who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, including the use ACV — motivatating their growing online communities along the way.

All of which would be inspiring if it were true.

The cast of Apple Cider Vinegar includes Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick, Unbelievable), Alycia Debnam-Carey (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Fear the Walking Dead), Aisha Dee (The Bold Type, Safe Home), Tilda Cobham-Hervey (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, I Am Woman), Ashley Zukerman (Succession, Designated Survivor), and Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin, Halifax: Retribution).

A production of Netflix and See-Saw Films / Picking Scabs, Apple Cider Vinegar will be shot on-location in Melbourne, Australia, with support from VicScreen through their Victorian Production Fund, and will premiere globally on Netflix (date tba).

Created by Samantha Strauss (The End, Nine Perfect Strangers, Dance Academy), co-writer of the series with Anya Beyersdorf (The Twelve) and Angela Betzien (Total Control), the series is directed by Jeffrey Walker (The Clearing, The Artful Dodger, Modern Family).

The Executive Producers are See-Saw Films’ Liz Watts, Helen Gregory, Emile Sherman, and Iain Canning; Picking Scabs’ Samantha Strauss and Louise Gough; and Kaitlyn Dever, with Yvonne Collins producing, See-Saw Films’ Libby Sharpe co-producing, and Jeffrey Walker and See-Saw Films’ Simon Gillis co-executive producing.

Stay tuned for updates.
