Netflix Original Heartbreak High, a re-imagining of the iconic Australian TV series of the same name (also streaming on Netflix), has been a veritable hit for the streaming service, so giving it a second season was a no-brainer.

Since the Heartbreak High reboot premiered globally in September, it has:

  • Remained on the list of Australia top 10 TV shows on Netflix (five weeks and counting).
  • Spent three weeks on the list of global top 10 TV shows on Netflix (hitting #6, #5 and #8, and amassing more than 42.6 million hours viewed in the first three weeks).
  • Reached the list of top 10 shows on Netflix in over 43 countries around the world, including the US and many in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

On social media, the series popped off on TikTok, where the hashtag #heartbreakhigh has amassed over 300 million views.

Produced by Fremantle Australia and NewBe, Season 2 of Heartbreak High is reassembling the cast and creators in Sydney, Australia (on Gadigal, Dharug, Dharawal, and Ku-ring-gai lands) for pre-production and filming.

Stay tuned for updates.
