Acorn TV has acquired North America streaming rights for Jack Irish: Hell Bent, the highly-anticipated third season of the Jack Irish franchise — an explosive final season that comes full circle, delving into Jack’s past and bringing him face-to-face with an adversary more personal and destructive than any he’s ever known.

Guy Pearce (A Christmas Carol, Iron Man 3, Mildred Pierce) returns to star as the eponymous criminal lawyer turned troubleshooter. Also reprising their roles are Marta Dusseldorp (A Place to Call Home, Janet King), Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road, Total Control), Roy Billing (Rake, Sisters), and Shane Jacobson (The Time of Our Lives, The Mystery of a Hansom Cab).

In Jack Irish: Hell Bent, Jack’s long-suppressed trauma surfaces as he discovers there is more to Isabel Irish’s seemingly random murder by his former client, Wayne Milovich — namely, a criminal conspiracy involving his trusted friend, homicide detective Barry Tregear (Shane Jacobson). When a cop is murdered in a drive-through, a chain reaction is set off, forcing Jack to search for the truth behind his wife’s murder.

Enlisting the help of his old flame, Linda Hillier (Marta Dusseldorp), Jack digs back 25 years into a record-breaking drug raid dubbed Great White. He soon meets Barry’s mistress, Nina Persky, who finds herself under threat from Troy, a troubled young man hell-bent on murdering every cop connected to the raid. To find the truth, Jack must stop Troy before everyone involved winds up dead.

Based on the “Jack Irish” crime novels by Peter Temple, the new season of Jack Irish is an Easy Tiger Production for ABC Australia in association with Film Victoria.

Acorn TV will premiere Jack Irish: Hell Bent later this year (date tba).

Said Don Klees, SVP Programming for Acorn TV:

“Guy Pearce’s portrayal of Peter Temple’s iconic character has been widely-acclaimed by North American media and beloved by our subscribers, so Acorn TV is thrilled to exclusively premiere its final season…”

UK-based distributor DCD Rights acquired international distribution rights (excluding Australia) for Jack Irish: Hell Bent.

Stay tuned for updates.
