Yowzah! Check out the trailer for the new Netflix crime thriller series Clickbait, which launches globally on the streamer later this month.
It sounds like an American series, but it’s actually an Australian-British co-production that features actors from the US and Australia.
It is the new Netflix Original limited series Clickbait. Told from revolving points of view over eight episodes, the compelling, high-stakes thriller explores the ways in which our most dangerous and uncontrolled impulses are fueled in the age of social media, revealing the ever-widening fractures we find between our virtual and real-life personas.
Nick Brewer (Adrian Grenier, Entourage) is a loving father, husband, and brother, who one day suddenly and mysteriously disappears. Then a video appears on the internet of the badly beaten Nick holding a card that says “I abuse women. At 5 million views, I die.”
Is this a threat or a confession? Or both? As his sister (Zoe Kazan, Olive Kitteridge) and wife (Betty Gabriel, Counterpart) rush to find and save him, they uncover a side of Nick they didn’t know existed.
Additional cast members include Jessica Collins (Rubicon), Camaron Engels (Malibu Rescue), Jaylin Fletcher (Snowpiercer), Motell Gyn Foster (Blue Bloods), Daniel Henshall (Lambs of God), Abraham Lim (The Boys), Ian Meadows (Dead Lucky), Phoenix Raei (Stateless), Elizabeth Alexander (The Secrets She Keeps), Hannah Brooke (Playing for Keeps), Becca Lish (The Deuce), Kate Lister (SeaChange), Steve Mouzakis (Jack Irish), Taylor Ferguson (Glitch), and Jack Walton (Mega Heist).
Clickbait premieres globally on Wednesday, August 25, exclusively on Netflix. You can set a reminder for it now at https://www.netflix.com/Clickbait.
