The new Australian wartime drama, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, is set for its premiere in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Based on The Narrow Road to the Deep North, the best-selling and Man Booker Prize-winning novel by by Richard Flanagan, Amazon’s new drama limited series, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, is an intimate character study of a complex man, a compelling portrayal of the courage and cruelty of war, and an unforgettable love story that sustains one through the darkest of times.

Playing the main character, Dorrigo Evans, as his younger and older self are BAFTA nominee Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Euphoria) and Oscar® nominee Ciarán Hinds (Belfast, The Dry), respectively. The five-part period drama also stars Odessa Young (High Life, The Daughter).

The series charts Dorrigo’s life, following him through his passionate love affair, his time held captive in a POW camp, and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero.

The Narrow Road to the Deep North, an Amazon Original Series, premieres in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on Friday, April 18, exclusively on Prime Video.

The drama features a who’s who of Australian acting talent, including Simon Baker (The Mentalist), Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Olivia DeJonge (Elvis), Heather Mitchell (Love Me), Thomas Weatherall (RFDS Royal Flying Doctor Service), and Dan Wyllie (Love My Way).
