Luke Hemsworth (Westworld, Thor: Love & Thunder, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, Neighbours) has joined the cast of Deadloch as Jason Wade, a “croc-wrangling Territory icon,” creator and star of “Jason Wade’s Adventures Down Under” and the owner of “Jason Wade’s Land of Crocs and Other Animals” Wildlife Park.

He joins the show’s lead cast, which includes Kate Box (Wentworth, Rake), Madeleine Sami (The Bad Seed, Top of the Lake), Nina Oyama (Utopia, Class of ’07), and Alicia Gardiner (Wakefield, Offspring).

In Season 2 of Deadloch, Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Senior Investigator Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) are in Darwin investigating the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy, but when a body is discovered in a remote town, they are flung into a new, sweatier, stickier investigation.

Also joining the cast in the second season are Steve Bisley (The Heart Guy, Mystery Road: Origin), Shari Sebbens (The Sapphires, Thor: Love and Thunder), Jean Tong (Safe Home, Heartbreak High), Genevieve Morris (Bloom, No Activity), Byron Coll (Time Bandits, The Luminaries), Nikki Britton (How to Stay Married, The Other Guy), Anthony J Sharpe (Joe v Carole, Human Error), Blake Pavey (Urvi Went to an All Girls School), Damien Garvey (The Artful Dodger, Jack Irish), Ngali Shaw (The Twelve, Ladies in Black), Bev Killick (Savage River, Jones Family Christmas), Ling Cooper-Tang (Troppo, Apples Never Fall), Ursula Yovich (Top End Wedding, Mystery Road), Syd Brisbane (High Country, Stateless), Ines English (Last Days of the Space Age, Dead Lucky), and Lennox Monaghan (Windcatcher).

A production of Guesswork Television, OK Great Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios, Deadloch: Season 2 is created and written by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, who also serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Whyte and Tanya Phegan from Guesswork Television. Andy Walker is the producer. The directors are Beck Cole (Wentworth) and Gracie Otto (Heartbreak High). The new season is financed with the Assistance of Screen Territory through its Production Attraction Incentive Program, and proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.

Filming in the Northern Territory is completed and has moved to Queensland, utilizing the Brisbane studios and its less-croc-infested waters for cast safety.

Stay tuned for updates.
