My Life Is Murder: Season 4 (NZ-AU)
Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Spartacus: Blood and Sand) returns as Alexa Crowe, a fearless, unapologetic, and charismatic investigator in Auckland, who has a bunch of new cases to solve in the fourth season of this hit whodunit series. Here’s a quick look at the episodes in the first half of the eight-episode new season.
In the first episode, “To Dye For,” a wealthy socialite dies in suspicious circumstances, leaving her entire fortune to her cat. To uncover the truth, Alexa investigates a heady world of high society gossip and hostile hair stylists. Erik Thomson (800 Words, Black Snow) guest stars.
The episode “Tough Love” finds Alexa investigating the death of a tough tennis coach, although she isn’t the only one on the case; a glamorous private investigator is determined to solve the case before Alexa. Then a real estate agent is found dead at an open house in “Location Location Location,” and Alexa’s investigation takes a supernatural turn when the homeowner insists the 100-year-old house is cursed.
And in “One Man’s Poison,” Alexa investigates a Midsomer-sounding “death by stir-fry” when cafe owner Reuben is desperate for Alexa to clear the name of his friend, a private chef accused of poisoning one of this clients. Guest stars include Joel Tobeck (One Lane Bridge, The Doctor Blake Mysteries), Tandi Wright (Creamerie, The Sounds), and Jamie Irvine (The Brokenwood Mysteries, Shortland Street).
Returning cast members include Ebony Vagulans (The Heart Guy) as Madison, Alexa’s tech-savvy sidekick; Joe Naufahu (Game of Thrones) as cafe owner Reuben; and Martin Henderson (Grey’s Anatomy) as Alexa’s brother, Will.
My Life Is Murder: Season 4, an Acorn TV Original, premieres in the US with the first two episodes on Monday, June 17, on both Acorn TV and BBC America (at 9pm ET/PT).

Filmed over three years, this docuseries explores the work and lives of extraordinary people and animals on the front lines of climate change. As temperatures rise, icecaps and glaciers melt, oceans warm, forests burn, and weather patterns change, leaving the world as we know it under threat. Ancient connections between plants, animals, and people are undermined, and the rules that dictated stability have been re-written with new climate change winners and losers exposed. Although the scale of the problem can seem overwhelming, local conservationists, scientists, and Indigenous leaders offer hope for the future. Their efforts show that it’s not too late to adapt, correct past mistakes, and care for and protect our world.
The four-part program travels to the most extreme places on all seven continents — from Antarctica, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and the Himalayas, to Brazil, Greenland, Mexico, Namibia, and beyond — highlighting what is under threat but also how the natural world is adapting in surprising ways, and revealing how science, nature, and Indigenous knowledge can prepare us for the future.
Dynamic Planet premieres in the US on Wednesday, June 19, at 8pm ET, on PBS (check your local listings), with simulcast streaming on PBS.org and the PBS app, and streaming availability on the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel. New episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays through July 10.
