Hulu has announced the US premiere date for the second season of the New Zealand dark comedy series Creamerie. Check out the official trailer.
Season 2 of Creamerie picks up right where Season 1 left off. For folks who haven’t seen the show yet, here’s a quick recap: Set in the not too distant future, Season 1 of Creamerie opens eight years after the near-mass extinction of men from a viral plague that swept the Earth and killed 99% of them in a matter of weeks. The 1% who didn’t die from the virus were sent to a facility in New Zealand, but they didn’t survive there, either. Or did they…?
The cast includes Ally Xue (Friday Night Bites) as Alex, JJ Fong (Wellmania) as Jaime, Perlina Lau (Flat3) as Pip, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Bobby, Tandi Wright (Nothing Trivial) as Lane, and Yoson An (New Gold Mountain) as Jackson.
Season 2 opens in Lane’s underground man-milking facility. Alex, Jamie, Pip, and Bobby are reeling from Jackson’s betrayal and face certain doom — until Pip’s cowardice sets off a series of lucky misreckonings. The team flee while Pip sacrifices herself to be left behind in the nefarious clutches of Wellness.
Jamie’s guilt at leaving her worst best friend behind is short-lived when Bobby discovers that Jackson has stowed away on their escape truck. Bobby wants to kill Jackson, but Jamie takes responsibility for her traitorous husband, brutally hobbling him through the knee with a knife to stop him escaping. Now Team Creamerie embarks on an epic road trip — from a secret co-operative sanctuary hidden behind waterfalls, to the corridors of power in the capital city’s Government House, to an illicit black market thriving in the tunnels beneath the ports…
Creamerie: Season 2 premieres in the US on Saturday, July 15, exclusively on Hulu.
