HBO Max has set the premiere date for its Original comedy series Our Flag Means Death. Check out the trailer!
New Zealand actor Rhys Darby (Wrecked, Flight of the Conchords) stars in Our Flag Means Death as 18th-century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet. Based (very) loosely on Stede’s real-life adventures, the comedy sees Stede trading in his seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer. As captain of the pirate ship Revenge, he struggles to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew. However, his fortunes change after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard, and Stede and crew attempt to get their ship together and survive life on the high seas.
Our Flag Means Death, a Max Original, premieres with its first three episodes on Thursday, March 3, exclusively on HBO Max. The ten-episode season continues with three episodes on March 10 and two episodes on March 17, concluding with two episodes on March 24.
