November brings just one new Australian program, a comedy, to viewers in the US, along with two Aussie mystery dramas being added to a streaming service.

NATIONAL PREMIERES

Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun (Australia)

In this new six-part sketch series, Australian comedy group Aunty Donna — made up of Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane — engage in satire, parody, clever wordplay, breakout musical numbers, and much more, as they take viewers along for an absurdist adventure through their everyday lives.

Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun, a Netflix Comedy Special, premieres globally on Wednesday, November 11, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

NON-PREMIERE PROGRAMS BEING ADDED TO STREAMING SERVICES

The Silence (Australia)

Richard Roxburgh (Rake, Blue Murder: Killer Cop) stars in this made-for-TV mystery movie as Detective Richard Treloar, who is transferred to a desk job at the Police Museum while under investigation for a fatal shooting. As he’s preparing a photographic exhibition, he becomes obsessed with an archival image of a beautiful murder victim. Searching for her face as he scans the graphic black and white images, he finds her in the company of criminals, then as the victim of an unsolved crime.

Costarring Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Emily Barclay (Glitch), and Alice McConnell (Mary Bryant), The Silence begins streaming Monday, November 9, on Acorn TV and its digital channels, including Acorn TV on Amazon Channels.

A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne (Australia)

This made-for-TV true-crime movie centers on the investigation into the death of Australian model Caroline Byrne (Cariba Heine, Home and Away, H2O: Just Add Water), whose body was found in the early hours of June 8, 1995, on the rocky shore below the sheer cliffs of the Gap, a notorious suicide location in Sydney. Her boyfriend, Gordon Wood (David Lyons, Revolution, ER), said she took her own life due to depression — a claim Caroline’s father, Tony (Garry McDonald, Offspring, Rake), doesn’t believe for a second. As the investigation continues, the police don’t buy it, either.

A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne begins streaming Monday, November 16, on Acorn TV and its digital channels, including Acorn TV on Amazon Channels.
