Finally, Return to Paradise has a home in the US: Ovation TV.

While Ovation TV, America’s premier arts network, focuses on arts and culture programming, it also offers mystery and crime drama programming — some of which is available to stream at its Mystery Alley destination — including the hit Canadian series Murdoch Mysteries, which has its US linear premieres on Ovation TV; Northern Irish crime thriller The Fall; Australian true-crime drama Catching Millat; and the international crime thriller Crossing Lines.

More of these types of titles air on linear Ovation TV, including UK megahits Death in Paradise and Midsomer Murders, Canada- and US-produced crime drama Sue Thomas F.B. Eye, American action-crime drama Leverage, and British mystery series Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators.

Joining them is Return to Paradise, a (relatively) new mystery-of-the-week series spun off from Death in Paradise, moving the action from the Caribbean to Australia. Anna Samson (Dead Lucky, Jack Irish) stars as Detective Inspector Mackenzie “Mack” Clarke, an Australian ex-pat who’s made a name for herself in London’s Metropolitan Police for cracking uncrackable murder cases. When Mackenzie is accused of tampering with evidence, she returns to her hometown of Dolphin Cove in Australia — the last place she ever wanted to be again.

Having fled the place six years ago, infamously leaving her ex- fiancé, Forensic Pathologist Glenn Strong (Tai Hara, Home & Away, Colin From Accounts), at the altar, she is not welcome here. But with no other job options, and a unique talent for solving a mystery, no matter how challenging, a reluctant Mackenzie joins the team at Dolphin Cove Police Station as a Detective Sergeant. Once a case lands on her desk, she can’t rest until she’s figured it out and the killer is in handcuffs. It’s that tenacity and work ethic that might just, over time, help Mackenzie win over her new colleagues… and the people of Dolphin Cove.

Return to Paradise: Season 1 premieres in the US tomorrow, Friday, May 2, at 7pm ET, on Ovation TV. (Production has started on Season 2.)

The series costars Lloyd Griffith (Ted Lasso) as Detective Senior Constable Colin Cartwright; Catherine McClements (Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries) as Senior Sergeant Philomena Strong, Mackenzie’s boss and Glenn’s mother; Celia Ireland (Wentworth) as police volunteer Reggie Rocco; Aaron L. McGrath (Glitch) as Constable Felix Wilkinson; and Andrea Demetriades (Janet King) as Daisy Dixon, Glenn’s girlfriend.

But wait, there’s more! Ovation TV has also acquired Seasons 12 and 13 of Death in Paradise, which will premiere on the channel starting Friday, June 13, at 7pm ET.
