AMC+ announced today the US premiere date for the highly-anticipated new season of the Aussie crime thriller series, Scrublands. Check out the trailer.
Stateside fans of the first season of Scrublands will be thrilled to bits when series stars Luke Arnold (Black Sails, Nautilus) and Bella Heathcote (Pieces of Her, The Man in the High Castle) return for the next installment of the crime thriller series based on the best-selling “Martin Scarsden” novels by Chris Hammer.
Adapted from Silver, the second novel in Hammer’s series, Season 2 of Scrublands opens a year after the life-changing events of Season 1. Award-winning investigative journalist Martin Scarsden (Arnold) returns to his coastal hometown of Port Silver, Western Australia (WA), to start a new chapter with his partner, Mandy Bond (Heathcote). However, his plans begin to unravel when he discovers that his childhood friend, Jasper, has been brutally murdered — and that Mandy has been accused as the prime suspect. As Martin struggles with doubts about Mandy and his own instincts, he embarks on a relentless search for the truth, uncovering buried secrets about Port Silver and his own past.
Scrublands: Season 2, an AMC+ Original series, premieres in the US on Thursday, May 29, exclusively on AMC+. New episodes will drop on Thursdays through June 19.
The series is directed by Ben Young (The Twelve), and written by Felicity Packard (Janet King) (who also serves as producer), Fiona Kelly (Rescue Special Ops), and Jock Serong. Executive Producers are Michael Healy and Andy Ryan from 9Network and Cailah Scobie and Alicia Brown for Stan. Producers are Ian Collie, Rob Gibson, and Martha Coleman. The series received major production investment from Screenwest, Lotterywest, and the WA Regional Screen Fund, and was developed with the assistance of Screenwest and Lotterywest.
