Hulu and Disney+ have set the US and global premiere dates, respectively, for the new Australian psychological thriller series The Clearing. Check out the teaser!
Based on the best-selling novel In the Clearing by New Zealand author J.P. Pomare, this Australian psychological thriller is inspired by the darkness of real-life cults in Australia and around the world.
Blurring the lines between past and present, reality and nightmare, the eight-part series follows the nightmares of a cult and a woman who is forced to face the demons from her past in order to stop the kidnapping and coercion of innocent children in the future.
The Clearing, a Hulu Original, premieres in the US on Wednesday, May 24, exclusively on Hulu. It debuts globally on the same date on Disney+.
Filmed across Victoria, the series stars Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches, Hacksaw Ridge), Guy Pearce (Jack Irish, A Spy Among Friends), Miranda Otto (The Usual Suspects, Rake), and Julia Savage (Class of ’07, Mr. Inbetween).
The cast also includes Claudia Karvan (Bump), Kate Mulvany (Hunters), Anna Lise Phillips (Harrow), Hazem Shammas (The Secrets She Keeps), Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin), Gary Sweet (Mystery Road), and Doris Younane (Five Bedrooms), amongst others.
