AMC Networks Publishing will be launching soon Miss Fisher’s First Mysteries (working title), a new graphic novel based on the hit TV series.
AMC Networks, which owns and operates streaming services Acorn TV and Sundance Now, amongst others of its entertainment properties, just launched a book publishing arm, aptly named AMC Networks Publishing. It will work with established and up-and-coming talent in developing, producing, and selling fan-focused specialty books, comics, original graphic novels, and more.
One of the projects the company will launch this year is Miss Fisher’s First Mysteries (wt), a new original graphic novel based on the global hit television series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, which itself is adapted from the best-selling “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries” novels by Australian author Kerry Greenwood.
Miss Fisher’s First Mysteries is written by award-winning and New York Times Bestselling author Cecil Castellucci (Shade the Changing Girl, Star Wars: Moving Target) and in partnership with Every Cloud Productions (the producer of the Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Miss Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries TV series).
Set in 1917, the graphic novel finds the Honorable Miss Fisher at a posh English finishing school. But its ivy-covered walls can’t contain the rebellious spirit of young Phryne, especially when her childhood friend is accused of murder. Outraged by this, Phryne stages a daring escape and braves the high seas as a stowaway — bound for danger and romance in the dark alleys, dubious theatres, and glamorous mansions of wartime Melbourne.
The launch date for Miss Fisher’s First Mysteries hasn’t been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
