Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (AU)

The wait it nearly over!

Having had its World Premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, 2020, this highly-anticipated, gorgeously-shot feature film continues the story of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, one of the most popular Australian series worldwide.

Essie Davis (The Babadook, Game of Thrones) returns in her breakthrough, five-time Logie-nominated title role as the seductive, slinky, and risk-taking flapper-era Melbourne detective, the Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher.

In this film, Fisher embarks on an exhilarating new journey of mystery and mayhem through exotic 1920s British Palestine and the opulence of grand London manors. Phryne frees a Bedouin girl, Shirin Abbas (Izabella Yena, High School Lover), from unjust imprisonment in Jerusalem, and unravels a wartime mystery concerning priceless emeralds, ancient curses, and the truth behind the suspicious disappearance of Shirin’s forgotten tribe.

Appearing in the film are Miss Fisher’s series regulars, including Nathan Page as Detective Inspector Jack Robinson, Ashleigh Cummings as Dorothy “Dot” Collins, Miriam Margolyes as Phryne’s Aunt Prudence, Hugo Johnstone-Burt as Constable Hugh Collins, Anthony J. Sharpe as Cec, and Travis McMahon as Bert.

Featuring in the film are Rupert Penry-Jones (Whitechapel), Jacqueline McKenzie (Pine Gap), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), John Waters (Offspring), Kal Naga (Tyrant), Nicole Chamoun (Safe Harbour), and John Stanton (The Doctor Blake Mysteries).

Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears premieres in the US on Monday, March 23, exclusively on Acorn TV and its digital channels, including Acorn TV on Amazon. The film will also screen in select theaters across the US this spring.
